Okinawa Tradition of Gifts for the guests.

In Japan and Okinawa, spend $30 to $50 on "favors" for their guests. Sometimes, favors are more like a small token like a few folded origami cranes (the bird that symbolizes a long, contented married life) or a lace bag of sweet almonds. And of course later followed up with a thank you card of some type. I seen everything from cakes to serving sets of all types. One of the neatest was a round trip for the family to Tokyo to visit Disneyland all expenses paid.

If you married an Okinawan and if either of you have some memorable moments or some helpful tips for those about to take the "plunge" I would really like to read and share them.
