     Average annual temperatures in three places in the nation's southernmost prefecture of Okinawa in 2001 matched record highs but there were no places registering their highest mean temperatures last year.The average temperatures in Yonaguni Island, Ishigaki Island and Nago stood at 24.2 C, 24.5 C and 22.9 C respectively, higher than their usual averages by 0.6 C, 0.5 C and 0.4 C.
